COMMERCIAL VEHICLES — New Hours of Service Regulations – Please note that there will be no change to the hours of service for commercial vehicles operating within BC as of January 1st as originally planned. The new Federal hours of service for trucking will come into force on January 1st and will apply to inter-provincial carriers. The new provincial legislation has been delayed and is expected to come into law in early March, 2007. The provincial rules will closely mirror the new Federal rules. RSS – We have received very positive feedback from clients who have already signed up to receive our RSS feed and encourage all those who have not yet taken advantage of this unique service to do so. For those who are using this service, please be advised that there were a number of recently introduced regulations that included numerous “housekeeping” amendments to various Acts. These included the correction of small typos and punctuation that did not affect the intent of the affected section. Not all of these amendments were included in the RSS feeds as we did not want to overwhelm your RSS Reader with dozens of alert messages for these types of changes. Note that a list of those Acts and the amending regulation is provided at the end of this Reporter.
