LOW CARBON FUELS
AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2), 2025
HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of
the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as
follows:
1 Section 13 (5) of the Low Carbon Fuels Act, S.B.C. 2022, c. 21, is repealed and the following substituted:
(5) For the purposes of subsection (3), the target carbon
intensity for a fuel is the number determined in accordance with the
following formula:
TCI = BCI x (1 – R)
where

carbon intensity specified in section 19 (a) for the base fuel for the category to which fuel belongs; |

reduction for that category, expressed as a percentage,
being zero percent for fuel in the jet category and as prescribed for
all other categories. |
Commencement
2 This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.
Explanatory Note
CLAUSE 1: [Low Carbon Fuels Act, section 13]
amends the reduction to be factored into the formula for determining
the target carbon intensity for a fuel in the jet fuel category.
